Anti-malaria campaign

IMPHAL, Aug 19: The 28th Assam Rifles, Lilong Post under the aegis of 9 Sector HQ IGAR (South) in collaboration with the Zilla Parishad of Lilong conducted an anti-malaria campaign today at Lilong Turel Ahanbi, Lilong Atao Khong, Lilong Dam, Chingjao, Chingkham and Oinam Sawombung in view of the recent outbreak of Japanese Encephalitis and malaria in the state.

A release of 28 AR stated that a large number of local volunteers participated in the campaign in which more than 1500 bed nets were treated with delta methaline disinfectants and anti-malaria disinfectant was also widely sprayed in the village areas of Lilong.

An awareness programme on health and hygiene was also organized for the villagers as a part of the anti-malaria campaign. Similar programme will be organized tomorrow at Nungai and Chongtham village tomorrow, added the release.

The inhabitants of Lilong area expressed heartfelt gratitude to the post commander of Lilong AR Post for taking up such programmes for the welfare of the people.
