IMPHAL, Aug 17: A 45-year old man who went out of his house for shopping was found murdered with his head battered brutally.
The victim is identified as one Hopeson Maring, 45, son of Dangsuwan Maring of Phunal Maring.
The victim went missing since August 15 after he went out from his residence at about 11 am in the morning to buy rope.
His body was recovered in between Phunal Maring and Kakching Uyok yesterday around 11:50 am. The body has been deposited at the RIMS morgue by the police.
Reports said that most of the section of the victims’ head was brutally battered besides bruise marks all over his body.
He was believed to be beaten to death by miscreants at the site where he was recovered, after being kidnapped from somewhere. However, detailed reports of the incident could not be ascertained till the filing of this report. Meanwhile, a public meeting in connection with the incident was reportedly organized by the locals residing in and around the area.
