IMPHAL, Aug 30: A special meeting of deputy commissioners and sub-divisional officers of all districts of the state was held today at chief minister’s secretariat under the chair of chief minister O Ibobi in presence of revenue minister Th Debendro, TD minister DD Thaisii, PHED minister TN Haokip and IFCD minister N Biren to discuss matters related to the ongoing census operations of 2011.
Although details of the meeting could not be establish a reliable source however said the all the DCs were made to give their observations and comments on the ongoing census operations during the meeting.
It may be mentioned that the current operation of the Census in the state has created some controversy regarding overlapping of jurisdictions in many parts of the state. The state government had already set up a high level committee headed by chief secretary to look into this matter of overlapping of village jurisdictions and today’s meeting could be a government’s effort to sort out the matter.
