Handicapped quota allocation improper: DAPWO

IMPHAL, Aug 20: The president of the Differently Abled Persons Welfare Organisation (DAPWO), L. Bocha Meitei, has appealed in a press release to all concerned for proper allocation of the 3 percent reservation given to the disabled Persons in regard to the selection of primary teachers held in 2006.

The release stated that the reserved seats should be given to those who are deserving candidates. He further stated that the fiasco regarding the announcement of the results of the candidates for the Autonomous District Council Primary Teachers for the six ADCs should not happen in future.

The statement further sought state government action regarding the disbursement of the disabled certificates which is taking more than three months to issue, stating that such delay is a violation of the disabled people’s rights.
