I-Day boycott over govt apathy

IMPHAL, Aug 17: Decrying the apathy of the state government towards the development of Kasom Khullen sub-division, the Kasom Khullen Sub-division Development Association (KKSDDA) fully boycotted the 64th Independence Day held on August 15 at Kasom Khullen sub-division.

Speaking to IFP, chairman of KKSDDA, Jajo Robertson stated that the association boycotted the Independence Day as a mark of protest against non-development of Kasom Khullen and not out of some anti-national feelings.

Not a single person took part in the Independence Day celebration held at the sub-division. The KKSDDA is very much concerned about the development of Kasom Khullen and would not tolerate the apathy of the present SPF government of Manipur, Jajo noted.

The demands of the KKSDDA included inauguration of primary health centre with adequate infrastructure and staff, repairing of roads, adequate supply of water and electricity, improvement of telecommunication and upliftment of education in the sub-division.
