IMPHAL, Aug 26: KSC defeated THAU by 2-1 while SU beat DM Rao by 1-0 in today’s matches of the Birendra memorial Imphal West Super Division football league being held at Chajing Kangjeibung, Lilong.
In the first match, KSC came from behind to beat THAU.
Initially THAU player enjoyed the lead till the half time through an early strike from Mataimei Zimik in the 4tf minute of the match found the net.
Zimik’s early strike put THAU player high on confidence and enjoyed the lead till the end of first half.
In the second half KSC players made stiff challenge against THAU to equalise the lone goal deficit.
Hominlen Haokip equalised the goal for KSC in the 52nd minute. The equaliser led KSC player upbeat in their tempo and they were successful in adding one more goal six minutes later due to stiff challenges they made against the rival player. Lun Haokip put in second goal for the KSC and lead the match 2-1 till the end of regulation time.
In the second match, SU managed to keep control of the match after Nanao’s strike in the 32nd minute found the net and eventually went on to win the match with the lone goal.
