IMPHAL, Sep 9: Living up to the spirit of the holy month of Ramzan as well as to spread the message of love, peace, goodwill and communal harmony at Lilong area in particular and Manipur in general, ahead of Idul-Fitre, the 28 Assam Rifles Lilong Post hosted a Roza Iftar Party at the Idgah, located next to the Lilong Mosque this evening.
Col. SC Rana, CO 28 Assam Rifles, Keithelmanbi, attended the function as the chief guest while a large number of people, numbering around 500 from Lilong area including children also turned up.
Among the prominent personalities from Lilong who attended the function were Md. Faisal Maorebi, Zilla Parishad member, social leaders, Md Abrahim Ullah, Professor Sadique, Pradhans, ward members and police officials from Thoubal district also turned up for the Iftar party.
As a gesture of goodwill and gratitude for the unceasing welfare measures taken up by the 28 Assam Rifles Post at Lilong, for the people, Zilla Parishad member, Faisal Maorebi presen- ted a shawl to Col SC Rana.
Sweets and other delicacies were served mark the party.
A Namaz was also offered by the people of Lilong at the mosque in connection with the Iftar party.
Acknowledging the contributions of the 28 Assam Rifles Lilong Post towawrds the welfare of the people of Lilong, the people expressed their deepest gratitude to the CO and all the rank and files of the unit.
