IMPHAL, Sep 10: The state government would soon announce the details of the devolution of power to the autonomous district councils of the state after thorough examination by the Hill Areas Committee of the State Legislative Assembly, said chief minister O. Ibobi during a one-day conference for the members of autonomous district councils of Manipur held today at Khuman Lampak, Imphal.
The chief minister O. Ibobi further stated that the state government is trying hard to obtain special packages from DoNER for the development of hill areas of the state and the compensations for the properties damaged during the course of ADC elections will also be given out soon.
The state government would further look into the matter of deficiency of staffs for the ADCs and the chairmen and vice-chairmen of the ADCs would also be authorized to appoint the deficient staffs, he noted.
Ibobi further appealed to the people to render utmost help and support to the ADCs to bring real development in the hill areas of the state.
The conference was also attended by TD minister DD Thaisii, PHED minister TN Haokip and president of MPCC, Gaikhangam.
The official vehicles allotted to the chairmen and vice-chairmen of the ADCs were also distributed today.
