Central team to study welfare projects

Imphal, Sep 10: A team of officials of the National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH) operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, led by its secretary Dr. Lalit Kumar and accompanied by KC Kumar, Assistant Secretary (NFCH) is visiting the state on September 14 to see the progress of the schemes and projects already introduced and other upcoming projects for the welfare of women and children who are vulnerable to exploitation in the state.

According to an official source, following official indication from the Ministry of Home Affairs over the proposed visit of the official team of the NFCH to the state, the an official circular has been sent by the state Home Department to all concerned DCs to keep records ready and to attend the official discussion with the visiting officers from the Centre which is scheduled to be held on September 14 at 11 am at the Mini Conference Hall of the Manipur Secretariat (South Block) during which there will be discussions on various issues related to the welfare schemes and projects which are to be implemented in the state in order to provide full security to the weaker sections of the society in the state under the programme of the MHA.

The official source further mentioned that the visiting team from the Centre would be visiting Senapati district on September 15 for interactions with children assisted by the NFCH (MHA) and will continue their interaction programme on September 16 with the assisted children and their families at Imphal West and Imphal East district, the official source added.
