Final settlement of teachers DPC sought

    Imphal, Sep 27: The All Manipur D.P.C Faced Candidates’ Association for Primary Teachers 2006, Imphal has submitted a memorandum to Th. Debendro, Minister, Law and Legislative Affairs with regards to the final and legal conclusion on the controversial primary teachers D.P.C 2006.

    In the memorandum, the President of the Association has stated that post the cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, N.Biren, Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports informed the media that the case was now referred to the Law department for necessary further action and in regard to the same, the association has requested the Minister, Law and Legislatures to consider and provide an immediate response. The association asserted that since a large number of candidates are nearly approaching age bar, process for fresh D.P.C with members will do justice in selecting deserved candidates and is highly needed.

    Further, they also asked the Minister to conduct the same with respect to the proper reservation of seat for all categories viz. scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, physically challenged and sports persons, specially with regard to physically challenged candidates (3%) as declared by the Chief Minister earlier needs to be implemented and the result of the Primary Teachers D.P.C be declared at the earliest in the interest of the candidates and speedy progress of the primary education in Manipur.
