IMPHAL, Sep 23: On the occasion of the National Cancer Rose daty on September 22, 2010 the Department of Immunohaematology and Blood Transfusion, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal had donated one unit of blood free of service charge to all the 19 cancer patients in the RIMS hospital. This was stated in a press release by Dr A. Meina, Head of department of Immunohaematology and Blood Transfusion, RIMS.
The patients hail from different parts of Manipur and neighbouring states. The department has thus been donating blood free of charge for the last six years on this occasion. This has been made possible due to the noble gesture of the voluntary blood donors who come forward so generously.
