Guwahati, Sep 26: The three Golaghat district committees of three organization namely the Manipuri Shaitiya Parishad Assam, All Assam Manipuri Student Union and Apunba Meira Paibi Lub organized the 59th Death Anniversary celebration of Hijam Irabot on 26th September at the premises of Lakhijoyanti School, Lakhinagar (Gilaghat district, Assam).
The statue of the Jana Neta Hijam Irabot was unveiled by L. Sotinkumar Singh, General Secretary, All India Trade Union Congress, Manipur. After the unveiling ceremony, a public meeting was organized attended by 500 people of the area and from Hojai, Diphu, Dimapur and Sivsagar.
The meeting was held with H. Goramani, President, Golaghat District Committee of the Manipur Saitiya Parishad, N. Tolenjao, President of Nagaon District Committee of the Manipur Satiya Parishad, and L. Sotinkumar Singh, General Secretary, All India Trade Union Congress, Manipur as Chief Guest, President and the Guest of Honour of the function respectively.
The Chief Guest, the President and the Guest of Honour of the function and all invitees spoke on the various works done by of Jana Neta Hijam Irabot and to continue to work on the lines initiated by him.
