More Zero Garbage campaigns in city

IMPHAL, Sept 5: As a part of the Zero Garbage campaign for Imphal City awareness campaign in respect of Uripok and Sagolband Assembly constituency have started from today.

The awareness campaigns were held today at various locations of Sagolband and Uripok Assembly constituency.

In one such campaign held at Sagolband Moirang Leirak, local MLA Kh Loken who is also chairman of the PDA was the chief guest while another such campaign held at Nagamapal, Uripok was attended by local MLA L Nandakumar.

Giving the key note address during the awareness campaigns, N Gitkumar, director of MAHUD, explained the reason for taking up Zero Garbage campaign in Imphal City. He also called upon people to understand true meaning of the campaign and extend support to the steps being taken up by the government to keep Imphal City neat and clean. He also appealed to the general public to place household garbage at the area allocated by the IMC for dumping the wastage.
