IMPHAL, Sep 21: As per the Joint Meeting of Longmai (Noney) Thoupei and Longmai Village Authority on September 20, the Longmai Village Authority will hold charge of the Longmai (Noney) Bazar Board and act in all the activities of the board until a new board is constituted under the aegis of Village authority by election/selection.
As per a release, the meeting after due consideration decided to let G.Joseph Gangmei, Chairman Longmai Village Authority to take over the Longmai Bazar Board and act as a Chairman until further orders. The release issued by the Convener/ Chairman of the Longmai Village Thoupei Court, stated that they have reviewed/ revoked the previous proceedings of the Board SDO as Ex-officio Chairman of the Bazar Board whereas MLR/LR is not extended in the hills areas by Manipur Hills Area (Re-organized) Acts 1956 and also there is no such provision of the Government of Manipur.
