KOHIMA, SEPT 6: Parliamentary Secretary Social Welfare and Women Development,  Chotisuh Sazo,  has evolved a novel scheme known as Community-Based Rural Health Scheme in collaboration with Bethel Medical Centre Kohima for the people of 18th Chozuba Constituency under Nagaland’s Phek district. The scheme envisages insurance coverage for all the people of the constituency who have not been covered under RSBY irrespective of party affiliation. Through this scheme, whoever is registered will be entitled to free OPD checkups, X-rays, Ultrasound, Blood Investigation, Endoscopies, Colonoscopies, Holter, ECG, Audiometry, CT scan etc  and a host of other allied services.
‘Community-Based Rural Health Scheme’ is a novel and pioneering project with an effort to expand “access” to health care for the people of the constituency. The scheme is a way to safeguard the health from the impact of illnesses as it helps reduce the financial impact as well as the mental stress associated with an illness. Keeping in mind that health is wealth and giving choices to the people, this scheme has been evolved, formulated and tailored for the benefit and welfare of the constituency.
Accordingly, the scheme has been launched by Sazo on 3rd September at Lt. Vamuzo Town Memorial hall. A host of dignitaries attended the meeting. Dr. Khezhalezo Angami, Proprietor of Bethel Medical Centre Kohima, Dr. Vetsutsoyi Swuro, were among others who attended the launching program.
Soon after the launching of program, a 2-day free medical camp jointly organized and sponsored by AMRI Hospital Kolkatta, Lions Club North Kolkatta and Sazo also continued at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall Chozuba.
