Teachers Day at Don Bosco

IMPHAL, Sep 20: The Teachers’ Day celebration was held in a big way with the parents of the students at Don Bosco School, Langmei yesterday afternoon. The students of different classes in the function performed several activities including cultural dance.
Wilubou Newmai, Social Worker, M.Dixit, Captain 10th Dogra Regiment and Rev.Father Mathew Tharakan, Principal Don Bosco High School, Tamenglong were the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and President of the function respectively. Wilubou Newmai, in his speech stressed the need to improve the present educational system in the state by giving more important moral education.
While stating that education without moral values is like a ship without a captain, the Chief Guest, W.Newmai also quoted great men like Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa who dedicated their lives for the betterment of the poorer and weaker sections of society. He further stated that education is all about man-making, life building and character building.
