IMPHAL, Oct 6: 17 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) organized a Educational cum Sightseeing Tour to Imphal for the students of Ukhrul Public School, Ukhrul on 05 Oct 2010. Approx 80 students and their teachers formed a part of the tour. The students visited Loktak lake, INA War Museum, Moirang, Kangla Fort, Zoological Garden and other important historical sites at Imphal city. The enthusiasm and interest shown by the students was remarkable. The Principal and school authorities expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for organizing such an event which not only proved to be very educative and recreational.
The official release of the Assam Rifles further mentioned that earlier,the unit conducted A Student Camp for interaction between the students of Sacred Heart School and Holy Spirit School from 24 Sep 2010 to 26 Sep 2010. This camp was organised to promote brotherhood and fraternity among the students of both schools. Various competitions like painting, debate, singing etc were organised during the camp. These competitions aimed at opening the young, bright minds of students showcasing their talents in different fields. The winners were awarded with prizes by Assam Rifles, to encourage them to excel even further the release added.
