IMPHAL, October 29: For the first time ever, the Program Production Centre (NE), Doordashan, Guwahati is organizing a NE Music Reality show titled ‘Sursangam’.
The competition will be held in two categories of English pop songs & Old Hindi film melodies. The competition is open to the age group of 18-25 yrs belonging to the North East and everybody in the age group are eligible to face the preliminary auditions.
As per the release from Prasar Bharati, Doordashan, the preliminary rounds will be held in the twelve cities of the region including all the eight state capitals. The preliminary screening will be done by all of the Doordashan Kendras in the North East and will be supervised by the Program Production Centre (NE), Doordashan, Guwahati.
The DDK of the NE region under whose guidance the screening will be held include DDK Agartala, Aizawl, Dibrugarh, Gangtok, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Shillong, Silchar and Tura. Further, each of the Kendras will decide the venue of the auditions, which will be completed in 2-3 days depending on the number of the budding singers in the region.
The release states that the preliminary rounds in all the eight states will be completed between January 1,2011 and February 15,2011.
Two finalists in each of the 2 categories from each venue will converse at Guwahati for the final rounds, which will be participated by 22 of the best in the NE region. The final rounds will be held in March 2011 and will carry a cash prize of Rupees Seven Lakhs in addition to the glittering trophies.
The DDK has also informed that the proposed 33 episodes of 60 minute duration will be telecast from the first week of February between 16:30-17:30 hrs from PPC(NE), Guwahati.
