IMPHAL, Oct 24: The publicity secretary of All Manipur DPC Faced Candidates Association for Primary teachers, 2006, K Raghumani, has today raised fear that the government might enshroud the currently burning issue of the Primary Teachers DPC results.

Speaking at a press conference convened today at the Manipur Press Club, he asserted that the law department has been unable to bring out the enquiry report, entrusted to the department by the government to find the facts regarding the result which was declared void by education minister L Jayenta Kumar, after it was declared and published in a local daily under signature of the education director.

He further added that the government seems to be trying to subdue the issue like it was done with the past Primary Teachers DPC result of 1997.

He also further exerted that the stoic silence maintained by the department director and the government amounts to victimization of the candidates and as such the government should be able to open up on the issue at the earliest.

Declaring education as the backbone of any society he has maintained that the government should be honest and true on educational issues and not dilly-dally in such matters.

While blaming lack of moral education for all the present issues faced by the state, he has further appealed to the government not to reduce education to a mere joke.

Furthermore he has appealed to all civil organizations and student organizations to look into the matter and save education from being reduced to a mere joke.

Meanwhile, All India Students’ Federation (AISF), Manipur State Council, has also demanded the concerned authority to settle the controversial matter primary teachers’ recruitment as soon as possible in view of uplifting the primary education in the state, said a release.
