The New Checkon Road area where the Imphal Free Press (IFP) office is located is under several feet of flood water. Under the circumstance, the IFP is forced to suspend the publication of its print and web edition, as our office is unapproachable for the time being. We will resume publication as soon as the flood water recedes. We request our readers and patrons to bear with us.

Manipur has been witness to an unseasonal cloudburst for the past three days resulting in dangerous rises in river water levels. Early today, several river embankments were breached causing extensive floods in the valley area, including the capital city, Imphal.
