IMPHAL, Oct 25: The Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) has demanded the concerned authority to give a clarification on the reported arrest of chairman of UNLF RK Meghen by Bangladesh police and RAW officials from Dhaka.
A release by HERICOUN said that the concealment of the whereabouts of RK Meghen by the authority of India is very unlikely of a democratic country. Free and fair trial should be the norm of democracy but the very action of the Indian officials has made democracy meaningless in the country.
It further said that there has been a report in the Assam Tribune that the Bangladesh authority has given official confirmation regarding the arrest of RK Meghen to the Indian Government, but till today the Indian Government has not given any response to the people of the state.
The Advanced Women’s Society also urged the concerned authority to give a clarification on the arrest of chairman of UNLF RK Meghen, said a release.
