National Integration camp kicks off at CCPur

Lamka Oct 5: For the third of its kind in the state National Integration Camp, NIC, has commenced today at the Multipurpose Hall of Churachandpur Government College after it was formally inaugurated by the DC/Ccpur Jacintha Lazurus, IAS in a very impressive functions organised for the purpose
The first such camp was held earlier at Thoubal and Chandel whereby participants from various states of the countries showcases and exchanged their distinct traditional dances thus depicting the existence of unity in diversity in the country .
According sources from Jackie Ruivah , Zonal Director NYK Imphal Zone, altogather five such camp has been planned to be conducted in the state this year out of 200 such camps in the country this year alone. In the year 2009, 100 such camps were held at various parts of the country, he pointed out .
The Camp has been paricipated by representatives from Bihar, Tripura as of now with representatives from Assam and Nagaland pushing on their way while at the district level of the state it was partaken by Ccpur as well as Kangpokpi representatives .
Traditional dances of various types were exchanged by the participants at the camp which is to be concluded on the 10th of this month next.
Speaking as chief guest at the occassion the DC/Ccpur pointed out people of different traditional practises has been living togather since the days of yore in India and inspite of the apprehension that it will disintegrate sooner or later such a thing do not take place as the bond of unity has been so strong.
She stresses the need for respect and tolerance of each others traditional practises and cultures as there are no sameness to each other in this respect for we are living in the country where there are unity out of diversity.
Jackie Ruivah has attended the occassion as the functional president . It was also graced by various officials of the district besides lecturers from the college.
As many as 20 resource persons from the state will be giving lectures and conduct seminars during the camps to the campers
