One caught fradulently drawing money from bank

IMPHAL, 14 Oct: A retired Army personnel has been caught by the State Bank of India, MG Avenue, Imphal branch for trying to draw money from a number of bank passbooks not his which he found and pickup from different places.
The person is identified as Keithellakpam Inao 48 year son of late K Ibohal Singh of Khurai Soibam Leikai but presently residing at Kairang Mamang Leikai, Imphal East.
Talking to mediaperson, an official of the SBI Imphal branch said the bank had taken up necessary precautionary measures after a complaint was lodged by one Kh Khesho Singh, a ground staff of Air India saying he lost his bank account passbook on 12 October and the his account become decreasing.
The official further said ever since the complaint was lodged, SBI officials with the security guard had taken up precautive measure and tried to arrest the culprit who withdrawn money with someone’s bank account passbook and today fortunately the person was arrested while trying to withdraw Rs 6,800/ in account number 109292274779 belonging to one pensioner Ng Rabeichandra, 62 years of Heingang Mayai Laikai pretending to use in his brother’s medication.
The SBI official further disclosed that as per disclosure of the accused he found Ng Rabeichandra’s account book at Paona bazaar SBI bank and started withdrawing money. He started withdrawing money from 14 Sept 2010, amount of Rs 600, on 15 Sept Rs. 1000 on Septembaer 27. Rs. 400 and today he was attempting to withdraw Rs. 6,800.
The SBI official further said on further interrogation the accused disclosed that he also have another bank account passbook belonging to one Kh Kesho, account number 10929252676 and from this passbook he had withdrawn rupees 1000 on Sept 2010, and further Rs. 300 on 27 Sept. Rs. 21000 on October 7 and Rs. 900 October 9 this year.
In the meantime, for further investigation the arrested person was handed over to the concerned police station.
