Para legal centre opened at LMS college

    IMPHAL, Sep 29: The LMS Law College in collaboration with the Manipur Legal Service Authority has organized the inaugural function of Para Legal Training Centre at the college campus today.

    The function was attended by Th Surbala, District and Session Judge and member secretary of Manipur Legal Service Authority as chief guest, N Gopeshor principal of LMS Law College as president and BK Sharma CJM Imphal West along with N Kipgen, civil judge, Sr Division No I, Manipur East as the guest of honour.

    Ch Narendra, senior lecturer LMS law College in his key note speech informed the gathering that the training on para legal will give awareness to the common people on the basic knowledge of law.

    He further stated that the training will the serve the purpose of giving the basic legal knowledge to the people residing in the interior parts of the state by giving the needed training to various NGOs and SHGs.

    Th Surbala in her speech has also stated that the training centre will be giving greater emphasis on providing free basic legal training to the poor, needy, widows, backward and other financially weak classes.

    She further added that the students of the college will also benefit from the training centre as they will also be allowed to give training in the centre.
    The principal of the college who presided over the function has also stated that  the Training centre will help the previous Legal Aid Clinic in spreading awareness about legal service to the common masses to a larger extent.
    He has further added that the students of the college in order to work efficiently and to provide proper training to the trainees will have to take help from the courts.
    He ended his speech by stating that law is not only for the rich and powerful but it is for the whole people.
