IMPHAL, Oct 30: A strong commitment to extend solidarity to the ongoing fast unto dead agitation of the Irom Chanu Sharmila who had been fought against the Armed Forces Special Powers Act has been made jontly by the All Manipur Rickshaw Drivers and Pullers Welfare Association and Sharmila Kanba Apunba Lup while marking the 10 years completion of the agitations that had been entered by the Irom Sharmila Chanu demanding repeal of the AFSPA.
All Manipur Rickshaw Drivers and Pullers Welfare Association and Sharmila Kanba Apunba Lup, today organized mass rickshaw rally which was particpated by about 1500 rickshaw drivers and pullers under the banners of All Manipur Rickshaw Drivers and Pullers Welfare Association.
The rally was also participated volunteers of human rights bodies and women organisations and it started from the THAU ground Imphal and covering various parts of the Imphal city road.
The ralliest finally gathered at the Tiddin Ground Imphal where a public meeting was convened and the meeting jointly resolved to extend support to the ongoing agitation launched by Irom Sharmila who is completing her 10 years of fast unto dead agitation demanding repeal of the AFSPA from the state.
