IMPHAL Oct 22: The Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi Singh, told the press today that both the state and the Central government are trying to get accurate information regarding arrest of UNLF chairman from the Bangladeshi government.

Ibobi said this while on a tour of the construction site of three Ema Keithel at Kwairanband bazaar and Tribal Market at New Checkon along with mediamen.
All the market sheds are waiting to be inaugurated in the first week of November by the UPA chairman Sonia Gandhi, who is likely visit.

Elaborating on the UNLF chairman issue, the Chief Minister further added that the state government will do its best to find out the real story about the arrest of RK Meghen.

RK Meghen alias Sanayaima may be an underground activist, however being a citizen of a democratic country like India, it is the sole responsibility of the country and its government to find out his whereabouts, he said.

Further the Chief Minister stated that he had a discussion with Union home secretary GK Pillai who was in the state recently, at his official chamber regarding the reported arrest of RK Meghen in Bangladesh.

The Chief Minister also said that a formal message inquiring of the whereabouts of the UNLF chief has been sent to the Union Home Minister and further urged the Central government to take up necessary action.

Ibobi also expressed hope that Central government will do the needful in the case.

Regarding various developmental programmes taken up by the SPF government, he said the UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, who is likely to visit the state by the first week of November will be inaugurating the various completed developmental programmes.

Ibobi also stated Sonia Gandhi, when she visits the state will also be going Churachandpur to inaugurate the Khuga Dam which will be followed by the inauguration of the three newly built Ema Keithel at Khwairamband bazar.

This will be followed by the inauguration of the Congress Bhawan, Annexe Building and the 80 bedded Muslim girls hostel at Hatta. She will also inaugurate the Tribal Market being constructed at New Checkon.

According to the Chief Minister, the UPA chairperson will also lay foundation stone for the INA memorial complex mega project, tourist destination, Moirang and Indira Gandhi National Tribal Institution at Makhan, Senapati district.

When asked about the scarcity of petroleum products and the recent raid and seizing of black market petroleum products while the union home secretary was in the state, he answered that the people should wait and see what state government takes up against in this regard.

State works minister K Ranjit and PDA chairman Dr. KH Loken also enquired about two yet to complete buildings which includes one of the Ema Markets and the Tribal Market at New Checkon.
