IMPHAL October 25 : Vaccination for Japanese encaphalitis started in five districts of the state today.
The 8-day long vaccination program have a target of vaccinating a total of 57,2196 children ranging from 1 to 15 years of age.
The vacination program is being carried out at 2,053 sites including primary health centres,sub sentres,schools,clubs etc.
More than 217 medical officers are involved in the program alongwith 217 ANM and 2713 ASHA workers. 3646 anganwadi workers along with 1815 teachers and 93 supervisors are also included in the vacination exercise, a total of 344 staff nurses will be aided by 40 local health vollunteers.
The vacination program targets 5 blocks at Chandel district,4 blocks for Imphal east and 3 blocks for Imphal west. 3 blocks for Bishnupur and another 3 blocks for Thoubal district.
