Govt investing heavily in health: Parijat

IMPHAL, November 11: The state government in a tie up with the Central government has already sanctioned a sum of Rs. 4 crore to be used by various government hospitals of the state at the rate of Rs 1 lakh per patient, declared the health and family welfare minister Ph Parijat, at the inaugural function of a three bedded Nephrology department at Shija Hospital and Research Institute, Langol today.

Further speaking at the inaugural function, the health minister has further stated even though the various government hospitals in the state have Nephrology facilities, due to lack of experts and equipment in them, the government hospitals are unable to function properly. He further added that the newly installed equipments at the Shija hospital which will be the first among the private hospitals of the state will helped in the diagnosis of Kidney problems in the state.

Showing appreciation to the dedication of the private hospital doctors of the state, he has also stated that it is unfortunate that the people of the state have lost confidence and faith in the Government hospitals.

Apprising that the doctors are the immediate neighbors of the patients, he has appealed to the doctors to act with a generous and sympathetic hand while interacting with the patients.

The newly opened department will have renal replacement (acute peritoneal dialysis, chronic ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and automated peretoneal dialysis and haemodialysis and transplant), vascular acess and renal biopsy.

The department will be installed with three new machines and will be a three bedded department.

The function was also attended by P Nishikanta and Dr Kh Palin as the guest of honour and president respectively.
