Guv, CM, others send out Chakouba greetings

IMPHAL, Nov 7: The Governor, Gurbachan Jagat and the Chief Minister, O.Ibobi Singh have greeted the people of Manipur on the happy and joyous occasion of ‘Ningol Chakkouba’. In his greeting, the Governor stated that the festival of ‘Ningol Chakouba’ rejuvenates family ties and strengthens the bonds of love and affection between brothers and sisters, mothers and daughters & father and daughters which ultimately helps in promoting unity and integrity in society.He also hopes that the festival celebrated in true spirit with bring together different communities as well.
The CM in his message has greeted the people in celebrating the grand festival of Manipur when married women and their children are invited for feast by their parents and brothers. His message further stated the enduring importance of parents-daughters relationship in our families and social structures in this day and age and that celebrations of such festivals plays an important role in spreading the message of brotherhood and harmony in the society at large. He wishes the festival fosters the true spirit of love, goodwill and compassion in our society.
Many others have also sent out their wishes on the festive occasion of Ningol Chakouba. Major General CA Krishnan,IGAR (South) extends warm greetings and sincere goodwill to ‘the people of Manipur’ on the auspicious occasion of “Ningol Chakkhouba”.
In a press release he has stated that may this festival herald an era of peace, progress and prosperity in the region and enhance the spirit of unity, cohesiveness and brotherhood amongst warm and friendly people of the State, the IGAR(S) added in his message.
In another separate release, the Manipur Pradesh congress Committee president Gaikhangam has also extended its wishes to the people of the state.
In another separate release the speaker in charge of the Manipur assembly Th Lokeshwor has also conveyed greetings on the eve of the Ningol Chakouba festival.
Similarly The Pangal Students’ Organization and the Bharat Sevak Samaj and the AMESCO in seperate releases, have also wished the people of the state on the occassion of Ningol Chakouba.
