IMPHAL, Nov 5: The first indigenously built wheel type turbine (5 KiloWatt) Hydel project has been inaugurated today at K Sinam village Senapati district in the presence of H Imocha Singh, IAS, commissioner of Science and technology, Government of Manipur and member secretary MASTEC as the chief guest and Th Surendranath Singh, executive director, MASTEC as the president.
Speaking on the occasion H Imocha Singh has stated that such kind of projects is a big step towards fighting the shortage of power in the state and that the state government should endorse the establishing of many such projects in the state.
The inaugural function was organized by Manipur Science & Technology Council, MASTEC and Lainingthou Sanamahi Power Corporation, Imphal.
