IMPHAL, Nov 4: The Manipur People’s Party has expressed a deep sense of surprise and perturbation at the complete silence of Government of India regarding the reported arrest of RK Meghen alias Sanayaima, the leader of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) on September 29.
The MPP has submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister with regards to the silence maintained by the central government stating that it is not a normal practice of any democratic government to conceal the facts about the arrest of anybody.
In the memorandum, the MPP mentioned that many organizations and associations in Manipur are demanding the revelation of the whereabouts of RK Meghen as it is not justified to allow such a sensitive issue to linger for too long period.  Further, MPP asked the PM to provide details about the arrest of UNLF leader and position at the earliest in the interest of democracy.
