Mr. World receives grand welcome from MPP

IMPHAL Nov 9: Arambam Boby Singh, a body builder who won Mr World title in the 75 kg category at recently concluded World Body Building Championship held at Banarasi was today felicitated by Manipur People’s Party, MPP, and the Langthabal Kendra Development Committee.
Bobby arrived today at Imphal Tulihal airport and he was welcomed by a team of MPP volunteers.
MLA O Joy Singh was also at the airport to relcome the body builder champion.
Arambam Boby Singh, 38, is son of late A Ibomcha and A Dhasumati Devi of Kyamgei and he had participated at Asia Championship 2010 recently had and won the title of Mr. Asia.
He is also winner of Mr. India for seven times and he is currently working as clerk in NF Railway, Guwahati.
Speaking to media persons at airport Bobby said he was not expected to won Mr World title when he looked to his competitors. But fortunately it was due to sheer hard work that the title come to me, he added. He further mention that he want to give his credit to his late teacher Yaiskul of Kyamgei, the Mr. Jr. India for he trained him at the YBB Gym at Kyamgei. Bobby also give a message to the youths of the state to join him to bring a healthy society.
About his future career Boby said he is planning to participate the upcoming body building championship at Malaysia, and further to continue participation at various international contest.
In a reception program held at Manipur People’s Party office, MLA O Joy Singh leader of the legislative Party MPP disclosed that in 1988 one Premchand from India had won Mr. World title and after a long gap of 22 years it is second for the India and first for Manipur to earn such a landmark.
He also said the MPP will treat equally to other sportsperson who excels in mega sporting events.
He further said that state government should implement a good policy for the sportsman which could benefits all the players without any delay.
Lamenting state government’s sports policy, O Joy said poor sportpersons of the state are not getting benefit from the government. He also appealed concerned authority not to politicize and bring business in sports.
In the meantime Mr. World was awarded Rs. 50,000 from the side of Langthabal Kendra Development Committee for his commitment for the state.
