Rallies, protest sit ins held on Meghen missing issue

    IMPHAL, Nov 23: More civil organizations in the state demanded to know the whereabouts of UNLF chairman from the Central and the state government today. As part of the protest, school students from various schools organized rallies while various meira paibis and others staged sit in protests at various places.

    Students of the Premadona High School, Thangmeiband Lilasing Khongnangkhong, St. Pritrict High School, Thangmeiband and Savio English Higher Secondary School Lamphel, Thangmeiband organized protest rallies which started from Thangmeiband Lilashing Khongnangkhong and after passing through Chingmeirong Khongnang ani karak concluded at the campus of the Prema Donna high school.

    The students while taking out the protest rally participated by around 200 students held placards demanding revealation of RK Meghen’s whereabouts immediately.

    One of the placards said ‘we want political solution, resolved Manipur India political conflict democratically’

    In the meantime, meira paibis of various localities held sit in protest at their respective localities.

    Meira paibis of Heirangoithong Makha Leikai Meira Paibi held their sit in protest at Heirangoithong Community Hall, Keibung Oinam Leikai Meira Paibi Lup held their protest at Oinam Leikai Community Hall and while the Pishum Oinam Leikai Meira Paibi Lup at the Pishum Keithel.

    While speaking to the mediaperson at the protest site, Thambalngou, secretary of Heirangoithong Makha Maibam Leikai Meira Paibi stated that the chairman of Bangladesh Communist Party, Manjur Hassan had also confirmed that the UNLF chairman RK Meghen had been brought to India by the Indian intelligent agency RAW as was reported by various state newspapers today and as such, the government of Manipur and government of India should reveal the whereabouts of the UNLF chairman at the earliest possible.

    Furthermore students of HRD Academy, Comet School, MEM Higher Secondary school also held sit in protest at their respective school gates demanding the central and the state government to reveal the whereabouts of the UNLF chairman.
