Sharmila solidarity fast held in Bhopal

IMPHAL Nov 7: Showing solidarity to Sharmila’s decade long protest, Yuva Samvad a civil organization based in Madhya Pradesh carried out a hunger strike at Bhopal Board office square on November 2. 
A press statement by Madhukar, official of the Yuva Samvad states that the strike was carried out to repeal AFSPA from Manipur, to release Sharmila from custody and to quash the case clamped on her under section 309 of IPC .
In another press statement from Just Peace Foundation , the organization has expressed gratitude to the public for making the week long festival a success, however the same release has also decried the disruption caused while trying to take out a peace motorcycle rally , youth concert and also denying access to meet Sharmila by the visiting human rights activist  who came to attend the observation .
