IMPHAL, Nov 4: A 12 hour long fast was organised yesterday at Esplanade, Kolkata, in solidarity with the 10 year long fast by Irom Sharmila Chanu demanding repeal of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA).
The mass program was concluded with the screening of National Award winning documentary AFSPA 1958. The program was organised by some little magazines and small organisations in Kolkata, notably, Manthan Samayiki, Akinchan, Swoyongnijukti, Jono Songhorsho Somiti etc.
During the progamme Bengali leaflets, badges, and photos on Sharmila’s cause were distributed to people.
