Two shot and injured by gunmen

IMPHAL, Nov 6: At least two persons have been shot at by armed miscreants in separate incidents during the last 24 hour.
A non-local hawker, sustained serious injury after being shot by armed miscreants this morning at around 5:30 am at
Keishampat Keisam Leikai along the Wahengbam leikai road under the Imphal west police station.
The victim non local is identified as one Gajendra 55 yrs son late Chalitar of Ngasari village Motihari district, Bihar at
present staying at a rented house located at Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak and working as balloon hawker.
According to sources the victim was traveling along the Wahengbam road hawking gas balloons when he was suddenly stop by some
youth on the pretext of buying his balloon and without warning pressed a gun against his back and shot him.
The victim was rushed to RIMS hospital by locals and his condition is stated very critical.
The Imphal west police station has registered and FIR in this connection.
On the other hand, an assistant secretary of CPI Bishnupur Block identified as K Manikumar 45 years son of late Achou of
Kumbi Leirak achouba under the Kumbi police station was also shot at his leg last night.
The victim sustained a bullet injury at his right leg presently under going treatment at Shija Hospital Langol.
The family sources of the victim said the incident occurred around 10 pm when some unknown armed persons came knocking at
their door asking for the victim on the pretext of having some talk with him but without any warning the victim was shot at
his right leg by the miscreants and hurried away from the scene.
The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained as no individuals or organization claim responsible for the incident.
