UKHRUL, Nov.12: The re-process or the second phase of the 2010 Ukhrul District Census counting is underway in a proper and strict guide-lines as per the norms schedule in specific Enumeration Exercise, according to the Ukhrul Sub-Divisional Officer, Rajen Vishal IAS while precisely talking to this correspondent yesterday in his Office Chamber.

The actual submission to the Census Authority of India was however delayed because of the unsettled controversies associated with the 2010 Census counting (Delimitation ater 10 years) particularly in the Hill Districts of Manipur on account of a public ourage.

The public was protesting the earlier proposal of the government to submit an earlier report which they suspected was tempered to suppress the actual percentage rises of the population after 10 years and charged the government of violating the “Birth rights” of the tribal families in the hill districts of the state including Chandel, Churachandpur, Tamenglong, Senapati and Ukhrul.

The SDO also disclosed that the on-going second-stage Census counting throughout the Ukhrul district, consisting more than 200 villages is going on smoothly and is being conducted using sophisticated methodology to enable simultaneous commencement of the NPR (National Peoples’ Registration) modulation.

Since a good number of expert enumerators for respective village is employed the exercise requires time and energy he said.

Detailed explanations have to also be done to the villagefolks he added.

The Ukhrul SDO is hopeful that the final second-phase Census counting aimed at registering people of age groups 15 years and onwards in all the villages would be successfully completed by December.
