IMPHAL, Nov 15: A young lady was killed in a road mishap today at around 2 pm at Keishampat near Hotel Excellency.
The deceased has been identified as one Shamulailatpam Sunila, aged 35 years, wife of Bobby, of Ngaikhong Khullen.
According to an eye-witness, the lady coming in a TVS scooter bearing Regn. No. MN-05B 3783 along with her husband and son after having medical check-up in a private clinic was killed when the scooter she was riding was hit by an over-speeding passenger bus. The son of the deceased lady sustained minor injuries on his forehead while her husband was unhurt in the mishap.
The driver of the defaulting bus bearing Regn. No. MN-05 1294 plying between Imphal and Wangoo is one Boy of Khongbantabam and the owner of the bus is Tongbram Debeshwar of Kairenphabi.
The police have registered an FIR regarding the accident but the driver is still absconding.
