IMPHAL, December 8: 4/8 Gorkha Rifles of Logtak Brigade under Red Shield Division organized an Anti Drug Awareness Lecture cum Medical Camp as part of Military civic action programme of army for Lamdan and nearby villages of Bishnupur District on 08 December 2010.
Besides this drug addiction campaign, ECG, blood sugar test, malaria paracheck, dental examination, oral inspection and treatment, urine pregnancy test, gynaecology related issues and counseling on HIV/Aids were also conducted in the camp by Captain (Doctor) Swapna Sudha M of Logtak Brigade. Approx 400 civ availed the benefits of this camp.
The beneficiaries said that the conduct of this Medical Camp by the Army has contributed in weaning away youths from evil effects of drugs. The villagers expressed their gratitude to 4/8 GORKHA RIFLES and Red Shield Division for their tireless and selfless work for the people.
