IMPHAL, Dec 26: 29 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) celebrated Christmas alongwith the locals of villages in and around Tengnoupal on December 24.
According to a release of PRO, IGAR (South), a social get together was organized in connection with the celebration at the School ground of Tengnoupal School in which all villagers both Young and old participated.
Further, on Decmber 25, taking the serving step ahead, drinking water was also distributed to the villagers of Saivom, Sita and Tengnoupal village. Ration and gifts were also distributed to the villagers of Shaibol, Sita, Lokchao, Kwatha and RRC village. As a tradition some financial assistance was also provided through the Carol group to the various youth centre of these villages. Similar celebrations were also organized by various AR units at different locations in the state the release added.
