IMPHAL, Dec 17: In an effort to reach out to veterans of the Army and Assam Rifles on the occasion of Vijay Divas, an Ex-Servicemen meet was organized at the 42 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the IGAR (s) with a a view to address the problems of veterans of the region and also to seek their involvement in establishing cordial relations between the AR and the local populace. As per the release issued by the PRO IGAR(s), they received an encouraging response with about fifty-five veterans participating in the meet. In the meet, the veterans were assured that their concerns regarding their pension benefits and recruitment of their wards in the army and AR will be looked into and maximum help from the AR was also assured.
