IMPHAL, Dec 17: Long awaiting demands of the state government employees for payment of their arrears has been fulfilled by the state government.
In this connection, the commissioner finance government of Manipur, VK Dewangam issued an official order on December 15 recently granting arrears of pay for six months from October 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010 in two equal installments, the first installment will be on November 1, 2010 and second installment is on June 1 next year subject to conditions that, in respect of serving employees the arrears for the first installment shall be deposited into the respective GPF accounts of the employees for a period of six months and the arrears for the second installment shall be considered by June 1 next year after obtaining the achievement of target collection of arrears and current dues by the Power Department and secondly in respect of Government employees retired/ expired during the said period of six months e.i. from October 1 to March 31, 2010 and those covered by the New Pension Scheme, and the arrears shall be paid in cash, the official order mentioned.
It mentioned that arrear of pay shall be only the difference between the pre-revised basic pay plus Dearness Pay and the revised basic pay plus applicable Grade Pay and the calculation will not include any allowances in both cases, the official order mentioned.
