Assistance to Myanmar by government of India

Imphal, Dec 5: In a simple ceremony organised by 31 Assam Rifles  of 26 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR(South) at Moreh on 05 Dec 2010.  Surface transport, earth moving and communication equipment includes,02x Earth Movers,04x Bull Dozers,01x Bolero Jeep,01×6 KVA Generator set,03x Motor cycles,03x Computer sets and  Walkie talkie sets were handed over to the Myanmar Army. This function was presided over by Lt General NK Singh,AVSM,VSM,GOC 3 Corps, Dr VS Seshadri, Indian Ambassador to Myanmar and Brig HPS Pall,Offg IGAR(S).This equipment was presented to Brig Gen Soe Lwin, Commander North Western Command of Myanmar Army.
This gesture by Indian Army will further strengthen camaraderie and co-operation for the future growth and amiable relationship between the two friendly countries.The short ceremony culminated with Lt Gen NK Singh, AVSM,VSM,GOC 3 Corps handing over the keys of the engineer equipment to the Myanmar authorities the statement of PRO IGA AR South, Imphal added.
