IMPHAL, Dec 4: A state cabinet meeting convened this evening with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh as chair at his official bungalow has approved the Manipur Public Servants Personnel Liability Act 2005.
The approval came after a long discussion, a reliable source.
Under the act, failure of the state government employees in any department to file affidavits/counter affidavits/rejoinder etc. in any court resulting in financial liability/loss to the state government shall be severely punished and the responsibility fixed to the official concerned.
The cabinet meet also gave approval of creating two new post of Sub-Divisional Officers of MCS grade II rank for Senapati and Jessami.
It also approved for the release GAD holiday lists and Manipuri calendar for the coming year at the earliest possible time.
Further, as resolved earlier, the cabinet approved for providing the post of ASI in Manipur Police to son of late Th Sanayanba, member of Zilla Parishad from Bishnupur district who was killed by some gunmen in front of his wife recently. Sanayanba’s son Th Dhaballo who is yet to finished Class XII examination which is requisite qualification for appointment as ASI has been approved for the post on humanitarian ground.
