CM appeals against divisive sentiments amongst people

    IMPHAL, Dec 7: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has appeal to all to avoid demands for homeland by different communities settled in the state as it is not justifiable for every community to have a homeland carved out of a small state.
    The Chief Minister said this in his speech as chief guest at the observation of the 16th death anniversary of former minister late Moirangthem Ibotombi at Heirok village in Thoubal district today.
    He further mentioned that various communities which have been residing together since time immemorial need to consider the value of the oneness amongst the different communities that had been preserved by our forefather.
    This cannot be reversed by the present generation, he said.
    With the complexities of state situations increasing no communities should not disturb the sentiments of other communities he said.
    He further mentioned that the violent activities of animosity between different communities in the state must be stopped. “Killing someone can never bring solutions to the problems of any community in the state” he said.
    He also mentioned that the state government has officially learned that some employees of the state have been indulging in corruption and as result many development activities are suffering .
    He said his government is doing its best in trying to maintained transparency in every aspects of developmental programmes for the welfare of the people of the state and if there be any weakness and irregularities found in the activities  the door are open for suggestions and comments.
    He also mentioned that, the state government has official information that some employees have committed unlawful activities while withdrawing their salaries and other benefits.
    In order to avoid such practices in future state government has made it compulsory for every employees to open their personal accounts and distributions of salaries and other benefits of the employees through respective cashiers and DDOs of different department will be prevented very soon to avoid many arising inconviniences.
    Ministers, MLAs from both ruling and opposition parties along with well wishers paid floral tributes to the portrait of late M Ibotombi Singh at Heirok as part of observation of the 16th death anniversary organized by the Moirangthem Ibotombi Memmorial Trust today.
