CM, chief secretary Delhi bound for meeting with Home Minister

IMPHAL, Dec 17: In continuation with the recent meeting with the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and his official team on their two days official visits to the state to stalks of over all law and order situations and other issues related with the law and order problems of the state, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and Manipur chief secretary DS Poonia have left Imphal this morning for Delhi to take part in a meeting with the Union Home Ministry.
According to a highly placed official source, the Chief Minister and state chief secretary will continue to hold meetings with the Union home minister and his officials at Delhi during their stay to chalked out strategies for improving law and order situations in the state.
Both the chief minister and the chief secretary will also be attending Internal Security meeting of the MHA which is to be chaired by the Union home minister at Delhi.
The official source also further mentioned that both Chief Minister and chief secretary could also mount pressure to the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia during the meeting at Delhi to accept the state plan size to a sum of Rs. 4021 crores which was approved by the state cabinet recently.
The source further said that, the Chief Minister and the chief secretary will also meet Central Ministry of Surface Transport and its officials on December 21 at New Delhi to discuss process for the completion of constructions works of National Highway No. 53. Further the both state leaders will also meet various officers of Central Ministries in connection with the development programmes into the state, the official source added.
The official source said, both chief minister O Ibobi Singh and chief secretary DS Poonia will return to state on December 22 morning to enable them to attend the 9th session of the Eight Manipur Legislative Assembly (Winter Session) which will commence from December 22, the source added.
