IMPHAL, Nov 30: Concerned over the safety of five officials PHED who were abducted by KCP (MC) militant, family members of the abducted government employees has launched an indefinite sit in protest demonstration in demand for safety and safe release of the abducted officials.

The protest is being held in front of the state PWD office at Khoyathiong where the PHED also have its head office.

Placards which read “We oppose kidnapping innocent people for a reason” “bring amicable solution by the department” etc were displayed during the protest.

The abducted officials were identified Huidrom Janeshwar of Pishum Oinam Leikai, an AE posted at Senapati, Keisham Rameshor of Khurai Leirikyengbam Leikai, AE of posted at Imphal East, SO posted at Senapati, K Manigopal of Uripok Haobam Deban Leikai, SO posted at Senapati, Nongmeithem Somikumar of Moirangkhom Chingamakha Leirak and the driver is identified to be one Inaocha.

Speaking to media person, a protestor disclosed that almost four days have passed but till date all the abducted officials are in the custody of the outfit. The protestor also said untill all the abducted PHE employees are released, the protest will continue.

The spokesperson also appeal both the state government and the outfit to bring an amicable solution as soon possible in the interest of the families. The matter has been apprised to the Chief Minsiter and cocnerend minister, the prostestor said.

It may be mentioned that all five official of the PHED were abducted from Mayangkhang village area along NH-53 by the proscribed KCP (MC) on November 27 while they travelling in a Bolero (MN01W-7847) to attend inaugural function of augmentation of water supply scheme at Tadubi constructed under the NLCPR.
