Farmer sensitization workshop held

    IMPHAL, Dec 10: A one day ‘Content Development Workshop’ (Phase II) of the project on ‘Rice Knowledge Management Portal’ under the National Agricultural Innovation Project was held today at the conference hall of the ICAR, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat today.
    According to a release of the ICAR, Manipur Centre, the workshop was organize with the objective to sensitize the farmers, State Agriculture officials, other extension personnel, private and public sector agencies, resource scientists and other stake holders of the state working on rice and to have an understanding regarding the modalities of rice content aggregation. Besides that the roles, responsibilities and goals of the coordinating cooperation centre and associate scientists was discussed with respect to the objectives of the project. Altogether 70 farmers, representatives from various NGOs, KVKs and state Agriculture department officials participated in the workshop.
    It has further stated that the inaugural session was graced by prof. M Premjit Singh, director Extension Education, CAU Imphal as chief guest. Other dignitaries including Dr N Prakash, joint director ICAR Manipur Centre, Imphal, Dr AK Mohant, Co-PI, NAIP- RKMP, ICAR Research Complex Sikkim Centre, Dr Brajendra, Senior Scientist, Directorate Rice Reseach (DRR), Hyderabad and Dr O Ibomcha Singh, deputy director (Plant Breeder Wangbal), Agriculture Department Government of Manipur were also on the dias.
