IMPHAL, Dec 21: A joint meeting was convened at the office chamber of education (s) minister L Jayantakumar along with the representatives of Federation of College Teachers’ Associations, Manipur (FECTAM), and discussed in the issue related with the in toto payment of UGC pay scales.
According to a release, the FECTAM has made their appraisal to the minister to review the state government decision and to initiate for the in toto payment of salaries and other benefits to the college teachers of UGC pay scales.
The representatives of the FECTAM during the meeting today strongly opposed the state cabinet decision of November 4, last month, and in this regard the federation has submitted their representations to the Chief Minister on November 11 last, as well as another reminder was also sent to the Chief Minister on December 6 this month, the release added.
In the meantime, state education minister has given his assurance to make revision of the state government decision in this regard after consultation with the chief minister during the meeting today which was also attended by commissioner (Higher education), the release added.
