Firing protested

    IMPHAL, Dec 20: A sit in protest was held today in front of the Kyamgei residential gate of Md Angou Khan, son of Md Mahei of Kyamgei Muslim Awang Leikai Palli kachin in protest against the indiscriminate firing by unidentified armed miscreants at his residence on the night of December 15 at around 10:30 pm. Md Angou Khan is stated to be presently working as a LDC at the TD department.
    A family member, while speaking at the sidelines of the sit in protest stated that the family had filed a formal report at the Irilbung PS on December 16, the next day of the attack, however the police have failed to take any proceedings regarding the incident.
    He further added that the miscreants had fired eight rounds with six bullets hitting the gate while one hit the window sill and the other hitting the tin roof.
    Claiming it as a good fortune of the family that there were no casualties in the gun attack, he further added that there has been no threat or monetary demands made to any of the family members.
    Further adding that there has been no claim from any organization till now, he has made an appeal to the concern parties to clarify on the incident and not to repeat such attacks on humanitarian grounds.
    The sit in protest was attended by the women folks of the area.
